Tortilla and Tacos!







Corn and flour Tortilla

Ingredients (For 12 servings)

  • 150g cornmeal
  • 150g all-purpose flour
  • 5g baking powder
  • 3g salt
  • 200cc warm water (45 degrees C)


  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour and cornmeal, baking powder and salt. Stir in water to form a crumbly dough. Work dough with your hands until it holds together. Knead dough until smooth.
  2. Divide dough into 10 to 12 pieces. Roll each into the shape of a ball. WE FOUND THAT 40g for EACH IS THE BEST! Cover lightly with saran wrap and let rest for 10 to 15 minutes.
  3. Flatten each piece of dough by hand, then roll into 20 cm round. Roll it over as thin as possible.
  4. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Place one tortilla in the pan. Cook tortilla until light brown, turning to ensure equal browning. Repeat with remaining tortillas. If it’s sticky, lightly grease the hot pan.

I was stupid enough not to take the photo of our fresh tortilla. We had prepared store-bought hard tortilla in case we failed. Below are the ones.
