Stuffed Cabbage Rolls


Apple crumble cakeも同時進行で作りました。10時スタートで11時半にはテーブルセッティング完了、毎回脱帽しております。

1 cup cooked rice
400g lean ground beef and pork
1 onion, chopped or minced
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

8 cabbage leaves

1 can condensed tomato soup
1 leaf of laurel if any

1. Bring a wide saucepan of lightly salted water to a boil. Add cabbage leaves and cook for 2 to 4 minutes or until softened; drain.

2. In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef and pork, 1 cup cooked rice, onion, egg, salt and pepper, along with 2 tablespoons of tomato soup. Mix thoroughly.

3. Divide the beef mixture evenly among the cabbage leaves. Roll and secure them with spaghettis.

4. In a large pan, place the cabbage rolls and pour the remaining tomato soup over the top. Add a leaf of laurie. Cover and bring to a boil.

5. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 40 minutes. Stir and baste with the liquid often. Add some salt and pepper to adjust to your taste.


chop 粗いみじん切り、豆1粒大くらい

dice 一辺1㎝以下のサイコロ型

ground 挽いた(grind の過去形、過去分詞形)
grate すりおろす
skillet 長い柄のついたやや深めの鍋、フライパン
baste たれをかける
stir ゆっくりかきまぜる
simmer ことこと・ぐつぐつ煮る
